Savoca and Heitzman in Concert
Savoca is a flat-out fabulous singer-songwriter, earning critical praise across the musical landscape. Dirty Linen Magazine calls her music, "an addictive blend of hybrid pop with lots of jazz whimsy and slippery funk." The reviewer for Puremusic says "the sound she's making is so sexy, so spiritual, and so womanly that it knocked me right out." Heitzman is a terrific guitar player, both electric and acoustic, who is equally at home playing on an organ, mandolin, banjo, cello and more. They live in an old renovated church/recording studio where they have recorded six records, most recently All My Excuses and Greg Brown's current release Milk of the Moon. Karen and Pete last played in Ithaca this past January, sharing the stage with Greg Brown (with whom they frequently tour) for a sold-out concert at Kulp Auditorium. Tickets for the 8:00pm show are $10.00 and can be purchased in advanced at Autumn Leaves Bookstore and Gallery, 115 The Commons and GreenStar Cooperative Market, 701 W. Buffalo St. Tickets may also be ordered by calling 607-273-8239.
