Christine Lavin in Concert
Who else but Christine Lavin? Who else on the folk circuit but Christine Lavin would twirl a baton as part of her act? Who else among contemporary singer-songwriters would include among her greatest hits such titles as Cold Pizza For Breakfast, Biological Time Bomb, Attainable Love, Piranha Women of the Avocado Jungle of Death, or Getting In Touch With My Inner Bitch. Who else among folk singers you know but Christine Lavin would go totally wireless in her concerts and use of live digital phrase sampling technology? Who else anywhere but Christine Lavin would perform as a trio with Peter Yarrow and Hillary Clinton? It should be clear by now that no else but Christine Lavin brings so much fun, sparkle, and energy to the stage. Christine Lavin grew up somewhere not too far north of Ithaca, migrated to New York City, and some twenty years ago quit her day job to pursue the music business full time. From her earliest days as a folk musician, she was no folk musician. She is a comedian. She is a singer-songwriter. She is a presence. Whatever she does is as outlandish as it is on the cutting edge. Come out on a cold evening in Ithaca to hear this very funny woman with a guitar. Each concert she gives is unique, so we can promise this will be a concert the likes of which you won't ever see again. Come early and you might even get a manicure. Advance tickets are also available at Borealis Books, Now and Then Records (formerly Rebop), and at Bound for Glory.
